“Education for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights"
Training course “Education for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights
In Youth Work and School Curriculum”
European Minority Youth Network organized a training course in
2011, which will bring together about 30 youth workers and volunteers in order to promote Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights and to extend competencies of youth workers and teachers in Education for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights. Education for democratic citizenship and human rights education are closely interrelated and mutually supportive. Education for democratic citizenship focuses primarily on democratic rights and responsibilities and active participation, in relation to the civic, political, social, economic, legal and cultural spheres of society, while human rights education is concerned with the broader spectrum of human rights and fundamental freedoms in every aspect of people’s lives.
The training course is supported by European Youth Foundation, http://www.eyf.coe.int/fej/
